Too many crafts, so little time

I admit, there isn't a craft genre I can say I haven't tried, but this year I have made it my goal to cull down my supplies and weed out the projects that no longer interest me. Like needlepoint. I have completed the series of "Occupational Bears" that I purchased kits for, but have not done any other bears in the cross stitch pattern book. I have yet to stretch, mat, and frame them probably because framing would cost more than the project itself. I plan to hang them in my upstairs craft area.

Recently, I rediscovered a plastic tub full of embroidery thread, beads, aida cloth, and patterns. I felt so bad looking at the four remaining projects I didn't finish- civil war, little lamb, and two bread cloths with a Mexican "Days of the Week" motif. I wasn't sure if I wanted to add them to my revised list of things to finish so I put everything back in the tub, put the tub back on the shelf, and then closed the door. Also, I didn't know if I had enough supplies for each kit so I couldn't quite thin that hobby out.

I then moved onto my fabric stash which has grown into two plastic tubs. I looked through all fabrics and took the smaller pieces out, the odds and ends that had no use and put them aside for a friend. The fabric was divided into two categories- drapery/upholstery weight, including silks; and cotton weave. As I looked through each fabric bundle, I opened them up to remind myself why I bought them in the first place. I planned on making the rest of the window treatments for my living room and dining room, but my color tastes have changed. I am loathe to part with the upholstery fabric even though I am not in love with them anymore.

As for the cotton weaves, I collect moda and Kona Bay fabrics. I love anything with an Asian or Oriental motif, like cherry blossoms or geishas or dragons. Kona Bay has some nice Emperor series panels, the geisha motifs are the ones I love to collect. I love moda jelly rolls. They've gotten better at pinking the strips so the threads don't unravel. Jelly rolls are so versatile.

At least knitting and crocheting overlap! No to get rid of the little odds and ends balls. I used most of the littler balls to make preemie hats. Maybe I can donate the odd lots to the kids' art teacher. I'm just thinking out loud....

So far, I fine-tuned my craft projects to this list:
Finish crocheting halter top for vacation trip
Write pattern for the halter top and save it
Finish crocheting arm on green sweater
Felt the material I knitted last week to make my purse
Knit more material to felt
Work on writing down my amigurumi patterns

Make a roll-up carrying case for my bamboo knitting needles and crochet hooks
Sew sushi apron
Sew geisha apron
Sew toddler size kimono
Make a pillowcase dress for toddler

Finish scrap booking all of 2007 and then work backwards
Work on scrap booking baby albums for the girls
